What is the cost for the 2022 season? – This season’s fee’s come out to $750. This includes all tournaments and league play, indoor and outdoor practice facilities and uniforms. Individual teams might have fundraising opportunities to fund more tournaments, but this is determined by the coaches.
Who are the coaches? – All teams are managed by volunteers that either played Baseball in the past or have other experience coaching youth sports. These are not paid positions, this helps us keep our league costs down. All coaches are approved by the Franklin Crew board of directors.
What is the time commitment? – Practices begin in the Fall, shortly after tryouts have been finalized and teams have been formed. We encourage practicing 1-2 times a week while the weather permits. We will begin out winter indoor training in January, and this will be once a week. Overall time commitment will be dependent on the team, and coaches will work with families to determine how many tournaments they will attend and what league (if any) they will join.
What if my player plays other sports? – Franklin Crew highly encourages players to participate in multiple sports! (makes for a better well rounded athlete!) If you cannot make it to off season practice, that is ok. However when the Spring season comes around, we expect full commitment to the team.
Where are the Home fields? – We have an Partnership with Franklin Little League located at 8900 S. 76th Street. Batting cages are available for practice as well as Bullpens for pitching. Please do not use the infields for practice as they are reserved for regular season games for both Franklin Little League and Franklin Crew/Flame.
Do we host Tournaments at Home? – YES! Each division is expected to host at least one tournament at Franklin Little League. Crew families will be asked to volunteer time to help with concessions and field prep.
How far do the teams travel for Tournaments – Most of the tournaments will be within SE Wisconsin, however the teams may decide to travel further. Wisconsin Dells is a popular tournament, as well as northern Illinois and Michigan. Coaches will discuss with families before locking in Tournaments.
How do Tryouts work? – Tryouts typically occur at the end of July. There will be 2 evaluation days per division, though you only need to attend one. Please fill out the pre-evaluation form found on our homepage and sign up for a date so we know how many players will be attending. The evaluation will last around 20 minutes and then you are free to go. All tryouts will take place at Franklin Little League.
